New Ringmaster RN2d

Ringmasters RN2d compact, robust design delivers reliable performance, both indoors and outdoors, from commercial applications to the harshest of industrial environments.

RN2d has a high-level reliability, safety and flexibility. It is an SF6 Insulated Ring Main Unit (RMU) for medium voltage networks up to 13.8kV with improvement guided by customer feedback and design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA).

The new benchmark in power distribution automation.

A modular platform of hardware and firmware, and an application building block for medium voltage and Low Voltage public distribution network management. It offers a single solution for control and monitoring, from a simple pole-top device to a large MV/ MV or MV/LV substation.

30 years of Great British engineering

Launched as the Ringmaster Ring Main Unit(RMU) in 1987, the Ringmaster was the first gas-insulated RMU on the UK market.

Traditional RMU's had been oil filled making them time-consuming to test and service. The first Ringmaster was safer, smaller, cleaner and easier to operate than the competition.

This produced efficiency savings for Schneider Electric's customers and set the standard for the future.

Nickel coated epoxy tank

A touch proof safety feature which is insensitive to harsh environments. The cable box has also been redesigned to meet the Internal arc classification of 13.1kA (AF). Internal arc design in accordance with the latest international standards, also manufactured in our IEC ISO9001-certificated UK facility.

RN2d is an SF6 insulated ring main unit for medium voltage networks up to 13.8kV. Additional test access connections for ring switch cable testing.
